Jelly Deals: DropMix discounted in the UK
A note from the editor: Jelly Deals is a deals site launched by our parent company, Gamer Network, with a mission to find the best bargains out there. Look out for the Jelly Deals roundup of reduced-price games and kit every Saturday on Eurogamer.
Last year, the creators of both the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises, Harmonix Music Systems, got together with legendary toy maker Hasbro to release its latest invention - DropMix. Well, DropMix Music Gaming System, to use its full name.
DropMix is a unique rhythm-based board game that uses NFC cards to let players competitively or cooperatively create music built from samples of existing songs. It's something that's a lot easier to understand once you see it in action rather than having it described to you, honestly, but imagine being able to build a song that uses the drum track from It's Tricky, the synth from The Final Countdown, the vocals from Ms. Jackson and the infectious horn section from Cake's Short Skirt/Long Jacket. Then imagine being able to change these parts at will to your heart's content.
