Bayonetta 2 On Switch Has Some Interesting Nintendo Easter Eggs
Both Bayonetta games released for Switch yesterday, and players are already finding some interesting Easter eggs.
In Bayonetta 2, scanning Amiibo onto your Switch will unlock some costumes, but also messages from Rodin, the shopkeeper. These messages break the fourth wall a bit, hinting at several other Nintendo franchises and appearances. Most notably, there's this note referencing Bayonetta's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U.

This seems to make Bayonetta fighting Mario and his weirdo friends canon in the world of Bayonetta, which is a fun Easter egg. There are also notes about Animal Crossing.

As well as Splatoon:

While both Bayonettas are already ripe with Nintendo Easter eggs. Players can already dress Bayonetta up as Samus, Peach, and more, but it's fun to see Sega, Platinum, and Nintendo all agreeing to have some fun with the idea of Bayonetta being a part of the world of Nintendo in her own strange way.
Our Take
I think it's a huge stretch to imply the Smash Bros.-related message is in any way a hint Rodin will someday be a Smash Bros. character, but I'm in no way against the idea.
