Elite Dangerous: Beyond Kicks Off Season 3 Next Week
Frontier Developments announced that Elite Dangerous: Beyond – Chapter One, the third season for their space-faring adventure, will be launching as a free update on February 27. The first chapter of Elite Dangerous' new season aims to bring both community-requested updates as well as new content, including the following:
- Changes to the crime and punishment system, including an Advance Tactical Response, which will hunt down repeat offenders
- Adding GalNet Audio, which will be the main source for updates and other information regarding Elite Dangerous
- New contacts that will trade rare tools and other materials
- Adding trade data overlay to help find the best spots to trade in the Milky Way
- Updates to engineering mechanics that guarantee improved crafting
- Updates to the mission reward system
- A brand new combat ship, The Chieftan

Our Take
It's always great to see a developer strike a stable balance with updates that result from their own ideas as well as community feedback. However, we're still wondering which Hollywood franchise is being adapted into a video game by Frontier Developments.
