Harry Potter Director To Helm Five Nights At Freddy's Adaptation

Most videogame-to-film adaptations are prone to being shelved or never make it out of conceptual development. With a Five Nights and Freddy's movie having been in talks for the past three years, it wouldn't have been outlandish to see it fall through the cracks. However, the project is moving forward with The Hollywood Reporter announcing that Chris Columbus - director of the first two Harry Potter films and Pixels - will be leading and writing the movie alongside producer Jason Blum, who has worked on Get Out, Insidious, and other horror-themed films. Freddy Fazbear's already got an actor's chair reserved for him, as seen in the tweet below from Blum's production studio. The game's creator Scott Cawthon is still involved in the making of the adaptation as a producer.
