Far Cry 5 Executive Producer Discusses Length Of Game
In a recent interview with Gamespot, Far Cry 5's executive producer Dan Hay speculated that players will be able to get through its main missions in about 25 hours. However, with side quests and recreational activities to do in between warring with a religious cult, Hay states times could extend for much longer depending on how much a player wants out of the game.
Gamespot also asked Hay several other things about the game. With regard to the insane mishmash of environments possible with the map editor, he says that there's potential for levels in the future designed to accommodate battle royale custom games as the tool evolves in the future. On the subject of micotransactions, they are similar in nature to Assassin's Creed: Origins' in that progress can be sped up by purchasing currency, but this does not affect gameplay in any advantageous sense in the campaign or multiplayer. Other than that, they are merely cosmetic. And for those who might not have access to an internet connection, the campaign will be playable offline.

Our Take
Considering the depth of Far Cry's side content, I have no doubt that will vastly extend the latest one's average playtime, as I have a friend that took over 30 hours to beat Far Cry 4. It's rare to come across shooters with campaigns that are even half as long, but when it comes to open world titles, the sky's the limit if you're itching for some non-linear gameplay.
