Ex-Crystal Dynamics Head Darrell Gallagher Joins Microsoft Studios

Darrell Gallagher, who spent ten years at Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics, is joining Microsoft Studios' executive leadership team.

Gallagher eventually became head of all western development at Crystal Dynamics parent company Square Enix before leaving the company in 2015. He joined Activision for a bit as part of their executive team for the last few years, now arriving at Microsoft Studios, a division that he likely worked with during such deals as Rise of the Tomb Raider's Xbox One exclusivity.

Our Take

Microsoft is definitely staffing up with experienced people on its executive board and explicitly telling people that we'll see more at E3, so my expectations for them are raising.
