Warframe's frosty open-world Fortuna expansion is heading to Switch this week

Warframe's excellent Venus-themed Fortuna expansion is finally making its way to Switch tomorrow, February 5th, developer Digital Extremes has announced.

Fortuna, like Warframe's Plains of Eidolon expansion before it, introduces a sprawling new open-world area, this time in the form of Venus' undulating, snow-covered landscape. The planet's surface, known as Orb Vallis, is "an exotic terrain blanketed with Orokin structures, towering mushroom forests, oceanic flora, and endangered native creatures", while the hub-like dept-interment colony of Fortuna lies far below.

Fortuna serves as home to the new Solaris United faction, and it's here that players can collect new missions and bounties before venturing back aboveground to uncover the likes of The Business, Eudico, Rude Zuud, and Ventkids. The expansion also enhances Warframe's already frenetic action with hoverboarding, new spider-like enemies known as the Raknoids, new wildlife conservation missions, the new Garuda warframe, plus twists on old activities, including fishing. It also has a barnstorming musical opener, and you can't go wrong with those.
