Apple's game subscription service Apple Arcade launches this autumn on iOS and Mac
Apple's heavily rumoured game subscription service has been formally unveiled. It's called Apple Arcade and will arrive on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV later this year.
Apple Arcade will feature a "curated" list of games that subscribers can download to their devices or desktop via the App Store and play at any time, with over 100 new and exclusive titles promised for launch. Games will be ad-free and in-app-purchase-free, and up to six family members can access them on one subscription.
Titles announced so far include Beyond a Steel Sky (a sequel to Revolution Software's beloved sci-fi point-and-clicker Beneath a Steel Sky), Little Orpheus from The Chinese Room, Sayonara Wild Hearts from Simogo, Klei Entertainment's Hot Lava, WayForward's Spidersaurs, Finji's Overland, Abzû developer Giant Squid's The Pathless, Sonic Racing, and more.
