Switch is getting a wholly unexpected Zelda and Crypt of the NecroDancer crossover

Nintendo has unveiled Cadence of Hyrule, a wholly unexpected Crypt of the NecroDancer crossover, in which Link and Zelda tackle the forces of darkness... to a funky dance beat.

Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda, to give the new game it's rather unwieldy full title, is developed by Brace Yourself Games, and initially casts players as either Link or Princess Zelda, setting them forth on adventures around a randomly generated overworld and its gloomy, almost certainly dangerous, dungeons.

Visually, it offers a slightly modernised, hyper-colourful twist on The Legend of Zelda's classic 16-bit look (with a touch of Minish Cap thrown in for good measure), while the game itself seems to be pure Crypt of the NecroDancer. Which is to say that movement and combat must be performed in time to the beat, while enemies sport distinctive rhythm-based movement patterns and attacks.
