Minecraft is introducing a character creator

For most of Minecraft's life you've been able to make your own custom skin on PC, or download others to make your character stand out when playing. Now, Minecraft is introducing an in-game creator to take that customisation a step further.

The latest update for Minecraft's beta build allows players to personalise their avatar's body shape, hairstyles, colours and skin tones, with more than 100 customisation items for free and a range of accessories created by the Minecraft team available to buy.

The beta is currently only available on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Android versions of the game, so you'll need to be on one of these platforms to be able to try out the new feature.
