Assassin's Creed 2 is free on PC until Friday
Assassin's Creed 2 is currently free on PC as part of Ubisoft's month-long schedule of offers, trials, and discounts, collated to "help everyone who is following health authorities' guidance by staying at home" during the coronavirus outbreak.
Assassin's Creed 2, history fans, initially released in 2009 and was the game that really shoved the series into the limelight, refining and significantly expanding on the promising parkour-based open-world formula established by its rather underwhelming predecessor.
Unfolding during the Italian Renaissance in the 15th and early 16th century (and occasionally interrupted for a brief modern day sojourn), Assassin's Creed 2 follows fan-favourite protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze across Florence, Venice, Tuscany and Forlì, on the trail of some increasingly inexplicable nonsense about the Templars and, probably, magic baubles.
