SOMA dev's horror follow-up Amnesia: Rebirth gets October release date, new trailer

SOMA developer Frictional Games' latest delve into the depths of horror, Amnesia: Rebirth, will be making its way to PC and PS4 just in time for Halloween, launching on 20th October.

Amnesia: Rebirth is the follow-up to Frictional's seminal horror effort, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a game that celebrates its tenth anniversary this year (2013's Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs was developed by Everybody's Gone to the Rapture studio The Chinese Room). It's all change this time though, and Rebirth follows the tribulations of new protagonist Tasi Trianon as she journeys across the Algerian desert pulling together the fragments of her shattered past.

There's exploration to be done, puzzles to be solved, and limited mental and physical resources to be managed, with Frictional promising a plunge through a variety of "uncanny environments, from scorched deserts and dark caves to forgotten ruins and alien landscapes."
